Romuald is a priest. He tells another ecclesiastic the strange events that happened at his ordination. During the ceremony, he sees a young woman of rare beauty and is overwhelmed with desire. The next three years, Romuald is the victim of a singular and diabolic illusion. Fascinated and in love with Clarimonde, he no longer knows which is the chimeric identity - the priest or the gentleman. But one night, Clarimonde reveals herself to be a deadly vampire.
